Sea Shells - Fashion

To create a splash without spending major clams, look at these accessories that you can buy or make yourself.

Summer style's best seasonings: aqua accents and shell crafts that are so easy to make they look more catch-of-theday than do-it-yourself.

. To create your own Coastal Hair Clip, collect the following provisions:

Materials: Assorted shells in coral colors (Jandlubbers can get sea goodies at the local craft stare); pearly beads; Krazy Glue or Super Bond; a fiat metal or plastic barrette.

How-tos: Glue shells and beads to the barrette so that the entire outer surface is covered. Let dry-then give your locks the total Neptune look.

. The Boater's Bracelet dresses up arms bared by tank tops and bathing suits.

Materials: Assorted shells with prepunched holes; pearly beads; heavy nylon thread or fishing line; scissors; bracelet clasp.

How-tos: Cut thread to desired length of bracelet. Knot one end of the thread to one half of a bracelet clasp. String shells and beads-they look great whether arranged randomly or patterned-onto thread, and knot open end to remaining clasp piece.

. For girls who like to hear the ocean's raar, there are the Deckhand's Dangles.

Materials: Assorted shells with prepunched holes; buttons; pearly beads; earring pins; earring wires; pliers.

Howtos: Thread shells, buttons, and beads onto earring pin. With pliers, twist bottom end of pin to form a loop so that beads are secure. Attach top loop of pin earring to earring wire. Repeat for second earring.
