Nail Care - Handle With Care
|
||
Nail care goes neat and natural with "naked" color and organic hand treatments.
If you want to have neatly groomed hands but don't have the time to visit a salon, here are some at-home finger tips.
. Keep nails on the short side-it's much more practical. (When looking at your palms, you should be able to see just the tips of your nails.)
. Protect nail eolor from turning yellow or fading from exposure to the sun with polish that contains sunscreen. Two that do the trick: Cutex SunVisor Top Coat and Cover Girl SunSlicks.
. For a French-style manicure, first buff nails until they shine (one tool to try: Maybelline Expert Touch Nail Buffer). Then use a white nail pencil (like Sally Hansen 2-In-1 Nail White Pencil with a built-in cuticle pusher) to whiten the underside of your nail tips.
. Smooth on Max Factor Pumice Cream, a hand-and nail refinishing treatment, to exfoliate dry skin. Follow up with a brush-on, peel-off mask to help strengthen nails (we like Ardell Nail Mask).
. To increase the amount of moisture in your nails, try a one-step hot-wax treatment, like Cabot's Vitamin E Nail Sauna. To strengthen nails, use a protein fortifier, like Develop 10. I'ts formula covers your nails with a protective seal so they won't peel. Then treat your hands to a replenishing lotion, like Sally Hansen Hand & Nail Therapy-a moisturizer that soothes and smooths dry hands and helps nails stay strong and healthy.
. To keep manicure madness from cluttering your room, neatly store your manicure implements and nail polishes in one place. (One suggestion: Caboodles Nail Care Organizer, a box with compartments that make sorting tools and nail colors a breeze.)
