It's in the Bag

Ever wonder what makeup pros use to work magic on models' and stars' fab faces? We were curious, so we peeked into a few of their cosmetic cases. Here's what we found. . . . We'd trust makeup artist BETH KATZ, from L.A., with our lives. Really. If she's good enough for Molly Ringwald, Lisa Bonet, Jody Watley, and Jennifer Grey, she's okay with us.
Beth's bag (it's actually a box) of tricks includes not only waterbased foundations but also cream types. Asked why she carries both, she explains, 'Creams conceal pimples better than cover sticks." Beth's other items: earthtone shadows and blushes, moisturizers, sunscreens, pressed and loose powders, and eye makeup remover. What does Beth think we should all keep in our purses? She answers, "A light foundation, mascara, lip balm, and lipstick."
Judging from the contents of her tiered tackle holder, New York 's LORRAINE LECKlE thinks the eyes have it. She treasures individual false lashes (because they make eyes look bigger), a lash curler, and a black eye pencil. Of course, Lorraine, who's worked with Andie MacDowell and Sting, has other pet potions that enhance her powers. We noticed that she uses hot pink blush, not to mention yellow and orange powders, to brighten skin tone. But Lorraine says that the classics-like an earth-tone blush and a black eye pencil -are away-from-home must-haves. Now take a look at a list that all makeup artists agree on. . . .
. Maybelline Great Lash Mascara.
. Carmex (to protect lips).
. Cosmetic sponges (to apply foundation).
. Undereye concealer.
. Brow comb.
. Bronzing powder (for an allover glow).
