How can I tell what skin type I have? Hallie G., Kansas City, MO

Skin-care expert Christine Valmy suggests you perform a skin analysis. You'll need a magnifying mirror, a piece of tissue paper, and a freshly washed face.
For best results, do this test in the morning, and don't apply any face cream the night before. Start by examining your skin in the mirror. You have dry skin if your skin is rough, shows no visible pore openings, and is dull in appearance. You have oily skin if your skin has o yellowish cast, shows large pore openings, and has some blackheads or whiteheads.
You have normal skin if your skin looks smooth and shows no enlarged pores. If different areas of your face seem to be different skin types, don't worry - you just have combination skin. To confirm your results, press the tissue paper against your face: The areas where the paper picks up grease spots are oily; the areas with no grease spots are normal or dry.

Focus on squeezing your inner thighs together as you straighten your legs. Do three sets of eight repetitions. Deep plies: Stand with your feet o bit more than hip width apart, your toes turned slightly outward.

Bend your knees over your toes, making sure your derriere never drops below knee level. Squeeze the inner thighs as you raise up to the starting position. Do three sets af eight repetitions.

For oily skin, try one of the new dual-powder foundations, like Maybelline Shine Free Oil Control Dual Powder Base, for a sheer finish. For normal to dry skin, try o cream makeup, like Max Factor Satin Splendor Flawless Complexion Makeup, for a smooth, semimatte finish.
