Model Moods / Beauty

One of the nicest things about being a model (besides having a bigger allowance) is getting the chance to act out different roles. Here, Samantha Emmerling shows us four of her favorite fantasy looks

Okay... now will the real Samantha Emmerling pleeease stand up?

Sophisticated: To achieve a 1940s elegance. makeup pro Kimberly Briggs accented her eyes with black liner on the upper lids and black mascara on the upper lashes. Her lips were brushed with matte red lipstick. For tousled waves, her hair was blown dry. The fitting fragrance: Loulou.

Natural: For barely-there beauty like this, a little foundation was used to even out Samantha's skin tone. Then her brows were brushed up, and one coat of no-color mascara was stroked on lashes. Clear gloss was slicked on lips to finish the clean look. Her straight hair was dried naturally. The fitting fragrance: Calyx from Prescriptives. P.S. This is the real Samantha.

Romantic: To create a feminine look, earth-tone shadow was brushed on her lids. Brown mascara was stroked on upper lashes. Cheeks were warmed with tawny blush; lips were colored in coral. Stylist Mathu Andersen set her hair with Clairol Benders for a cascade of curls. The fitting fragrance: Lauren by Ralph Lauren.

Retro: For old-world charm, pale powder was swept on her face. Black liner was stroked on the upper lids: lips were tinted with bold color. Hair was braided at the sides, then pinned behind the ears. The fitting fragrance: White Shoulders.
