Exercise Like a Kid   By Cynthia Dermody

FITNESS

The more you enjoy exercising, the more likely you'll stick with it, says personal trainer Debi Pillarella, of the American Council on Exercise. Kids play these games just for fun, but you can get a healthier heart and slimmer body:

Jump Rope

Even without the "A, My Name Is Alice" song, you'll tone your calves and build agility, strength and endurance.
Just 15 minutes of vigorous jumping burns almost as many calories as a half-hour jog.

Hula-Hoop

Targets abs and obliques for that sculpted-waist look. For a tougher workout, try The Sports Hoop, a weighted version.

Scooter

The standing leg gets stronger, while the pushing leg gets an endurance workout. "It's great cardio, and will firm up the legs," says Pillarella. Balancing works the core, trimming abs.

Trampoline

Not recommended for children, but a high-intensity session on a mini-tramp burns ab out the same number of calories as running, without knee-jarring impact-just be careful you don't fall off .
