Just My Luck
|
''The luckiest woman in the world [Lohan] meets the unluckiest man in the world [Pine], and they exchange a kiss,'' says producer Arnold Rifkin (The Whole Ten Yards). ''The next minute, they've reversed roles.''
The original script, titled Lady Luck, was intended for an older professional, ''someone who had really lived life and suffered,'' reveals Rifkin. Several drafts and a title change later, a lighter, younger-skewing Just My Luck may be the vehicle to ease the 19-year-old Lohan, who here plays a New York career woman, out of the tween genre.
''She's a young lady, as opposed to a bubbly teenager,'' says Rifkin. ''I don't believe there was another piece of material that could have provided this transition for her the way that this did.'' (May 12)
