By now, CG movies should be relatively easy for the pros at Pixar, right? "We're bringing our computers to their knees," says Lasseter. "This is far beyond anything we've done."
Why? The tale of a spoiled race car (Wilson) who discovers a slower way of life off the track takes place in a world of peeling paint and dusty canyons-which computers have trouble rendering.
An early trailer brought Cars same bad buzz, but that may be a Pixar lucky charm:
