Mahima talks Saher movie
Dilli's Ritu has turned Mumbai's Mahima. She has changed a lot. Yes, Mahima Chaudhary has traveled a long way from showman Subhash Ghai's 'Pardes' to yet to release 'Saher'. She says she has moved so far steadily though without any big tide in her filmi career. She is still looking forward for playing a role that may establish her in the tinsel world and among its viewers.
She wouldn't mind seeking such a character throughout her life. She likes Delhi where she was brought up. She is crazy about the Capital's walled city and narrow lanes, full of eateries with a variety of delicious dishes. She is very excited about her latest movie 'Saher', likely to release soon. We had a chat with her recently.
What's 'Saher' all about?
Its title is 'Saher-The Morning'. This is the true and courageous story of the police force.
What's your role in it?
I play the wife of young Arun Kumar of Lucknow, who is chief of the special task force of the police force, constituted for dealing with the organized criminals of Uttar Pradesh. The movie is based on the true life of the mafia leader Shriprakash Shukla who had terrorized the state.
How did you get this movie?
I liked the story narrated by director Kabir Kaushik. He has done a lot of research on the story. I found a challenging role in it. So, I accepted it.
How did you find Kabir Kaushik as director?
He is a talented and an energetic director.
Who is playing opposite you?
Arshad Warsi plays opposite me.
How did you feel working with him?
He is a very good actor. He is capable of playing different characters. In this movie, he has acted as a serious police officer. I play his wife. Both of us will be noticed differently in 'Saher'. I am sure that the viewers would like our performances.
