With “Bambi II,” Brian Pimental has added director to his long list of feature animation credits. Starting his career as a cleanup artist on films including Disney's “Little Mermaid” and “Oliver & Company” as well the Steven Spielberg-produced “An American Tail,” Pimental has been involved in creating some of the most successful animated films in recent memory.
Pimental was story artist for the Disney blockbusters “Aladdin” and “Beauty and the Beast” before becoming head of story for the studio's “A Goofy Movie” and “Tarzan.” Most recently he served as story consultant for Disney's upcoming “Enchanted,” a mixed animation and live-action feature directed by Kevin Lima (“Tarzan,” “102 Dalmatians”), and “Return to Never Land.”
In addition, Pimental was responsible for both the story and direction of “Bambi II.” The multi-talented artist provided voices for two of the film's characters: Porcupine and Groundhog.
A native of Massachusettes, Pimental earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the California Institute of the Arts
