Genelia D’Souza: How Does She Remain So Happy?
We are all aware of the perky nature of South Indian and Bollywood actress Genelia D'Souza and we know how she keeps smiling all the time. But did you know the reason behind that everlasting smile? Well, Genelia D'Souza reportedly has a perpetual smile on her face because of the love that is showered on her by her fans.
Recent media reports about the actress claim that she is very popular among her fans because she always greets them with her trademark bubbly smile! In fact, Genelia D'Souza's smile is so much talked about these days that most of her fans want to see her smile rather than take her autograph!
The actress had to go to the Coimbatore airport in the recent past. Recalling an incident which took place at the airport, Genelia D'Souza shares that as soon as she entered the airport, a horde of fans surrounded her. But contrary to her thoughts that she would now have to start signing autographs for all assembled, her fans only wanted their favorite actress to pass on her sweet and infectious smile to them. And it was this that made the actress very happy. We guess that she smiled all the more!
It was through her homepage on social networking site Twitter that Genelia D'Souza shared this incident with the world. The actress was at the Coimbatore airport because her shoot for `Velayudham' at Pollachi had been stalled due to rain.
Genelia: I'm not getting married to anyone
Genelia D'Souza is upset with rumours of her wedding with actor Riteish Deshmukh. The actress says she isn't getting married to anyone for the time being.
"To set the record straight, I am not getting married to anyone. I have always maintained that my personal life is not something I would like to discuss. But this time since it was something that would affect my family, I decided to take a stand," said Genelia in a statement released here Tuesday.
"My films and my brands are my priority as of now and I'd like to keep it that way. And if I do decide to settle down, you will hear it from me when as and when it happens," she added.
A tabloid had reported the romance brewed between Genelia and Riteish on the sets of "Tujhe Meri Kasam" (2003) and that they are planning to get married this year.
"It's rather funny that we have to read about the progress in our lives in the press before we even know it ourselves. I wonder how news like that can be put out without any confirmation from the people whose lives are being discussed," she said.
Genelia is right now looking forward to the release of "Chance Pe Dance". She is paired with Shahid Kapoor in the film, which is releasing Jan 15.
She's got the 'man' power
Genelia D'Souza who has teamed up with John Abraham for her forthcoming release Hook Ya Crook always has a sparkle in her eyes when she talks about the Bollywood hunk. And a little bit of prodding is all that it takes for her to reveal that she has liked John for a long time.
"John is so hot. I would love to see him taking his shirt off again. I used to like him since the time he came for our fete long ago," Genelia told After Hrs.
However, John's not the only good-looking man in her life right now (on screen we mean). This svelte damsel will be seen sharing the screen with Fardeen Khan and Harman Baweja in It's My Life and Life Partner, respectively.
"I just love the way Fardeen talks. He makes me cackle through the day. Harman is a disciplined actor who likes getting into the skin of the actor. I'm having a blast in Bollywood," she says.
Genelia says the success of Jaane Tu … Ya Jaane Na has translated into her being approached for many girl-next-door roles. However, she doesn't have a problem with that. "I'm an actor who should perform whenever I get the opportunity. So if I'm getting roles that see me as a college going girl who is independent and youthful, I don't mind that," she says.
But aren't such roles cutting her out from trying other genres? "I love cinema though initially it was never in my scheme of things. But now that I'm in it, I would love to do all kinds of cinema from an out-and-out commercial film to something which is different and serious. I would love to do action stunts too. I like the challenge of essaying characters I can't even relate to. I get to know more about my traits through them," she ends.
