Jessica Alba is happy to get first Latina role in Machete
Jessica Alba was immediately attracted by his last film, because it could not rely on its own heritage.
The 29-year-old who is Mexican-American, met with Sin City director Robert Rodriguez for the thriller Machete, where she plays a Latina character, a U.S. immigration officer determined for the first time.
“I’ve never played a Latina in a movie before … I always thought that if I’m playing a character Latina, I want it to be vibrant and strong woman, like the women I grew up, “she told Tatler magazine.
The actress also said its heritage meant she had an affair with the director of instant film.
“Robert Rodriguez’s films are so entertaining,” she said.
“I grew up Mexican-American, which he did. We were instantly like family. We cook and spend time with children. ”
Machete, which also featured an unusual combination of Robert De Niro, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan and Steven Seagal, opens in the U.S. in September.
