Romeo Beckham and his girlfriend of five years, Mia Regan, have officially ended their relationship. “We still have great love and respect for each other,” Romeo Beckham wrote about his ex on Instagram.
The 21-year-old athlete, who is the son of Hollywood couple David and Victoria Beckham, announced the separation on his Instagram story on February 25. In his statement, he stated that he and Regan, who is now his ex-girlfriend, are on good terms and that they still value each other very much.
“After five years together, Mooch and I have parted ways. We still have great love and respect for each other. We still have a strong friendship and always will,” Beckham wrote, along with a funny photo of him and Regan sticking out their tongues.
Regan also shared her statement about the separation on her Instagram story. Alongside a photo of the former couple eating ice cream, she wrote a caption reflecting on her bond with Beckham and later humorously stated that they decided to remain friends.
“This is Ro, we grew up together since we were 16!!! Love takes different forms and paths as we mature,” Regan wrote.
We’re not [together] romantically, but we have a lot, a lot of love for each other… After 5 years, we started seeing each other as friends heheh.
The split comes months after Beckham showed his admiration for Regan with a tattoo. In November, Regan shared a photo of this tattoo on her Instagram story. The word “Mooch” was tattooed above a world globe near Beckham’s elbow. This tattoo was likely a reference to the model’s nickname and Instagram account @mimimoocher.
Although the couple first met in 2019, they did not make their first public appearance until 2021. At the time, they walked hand in hand at the Fashion Awards in London. Regan stated that she felt nervous before appearing on the red carpet with her then-boyfriend and sought advice from his mother, Victoria Beckham.
“I think it’s a good thing to be nervous; if you’re not, you’re not human,” Regan said in a 2021 interview with Vogue, admitting that she had spoken to fashion designer Victoria Beckham before the event.
It’s nice to just talk to her about the clothes I’m going to wear, my nails and make-up, it’s great to have someone like that.
Since then, Regan has continued to maintain a close relationship with her now-ex Romeo’s family, even working on a denim collection with Victoria in October 2022. “I felt like [Victoria] really trusted me,” he said in an interview with Vogue at the time.
It was cool to see him in hard work mode.
The former Spice Girl member also praised Regan’s work, telling the magazine:

While Beckham and Regan were together for 5 years, they broke up for a short time in July 2022 and it was reported that the reason for this was long distance. However, 5 months later, Romeo shared a photo of the model on his Instagram account and stated that they were together again.
Along with Romeo, David and Victoria have three other children: Brooklyn, 24, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 12.
