Ben Affleck is an Oscar-winning screenwriter in addition to being one of the busiest actors in Hollywood. He first gained critical attention at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival with starring roles in Kevin Smith's comedy “Chasing Amy” and Mark Pellington's coming-of-age tale “Going All The Way.” He then starred in the acclaimed drama “Good Will Hunting,” which he co-wrote with Matt Damon. In addition, the cast of “Good Will Hunting” received a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award nomination for Outstanding Cast Performance.
The following year, Affleck joined the cast of the Academy Award-winning Best Picture “Shakespeare in Love,” for which he shared in a SAG Award won by the ensemble for Outstanding Cast Performance. He also segued into big-budget actioners with the blockbuster hit “Armageddon.” Affleck went on to star in “Forces of Nature,” “Dogma,” “Boiler Room,” “Reindeer Games,” “Bounce” and “Pearl Harbor.”
His more recent credits include the dramatic thriller “Changing Lanes,” with Samuel L. LivePlanet's “Project Greenlight” was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program in 2002, and earned two consecutive Golden Laurel Award nominations from the Producers Guild of America. The series will return for a third season in 2005. Affleck and Bailey also co-wrote the innovative drama “Push, Nevada,” which aired on ABC in the fall of 2002.
