The spiritual dynamics that lie at the heart of lying can be addressed in two main axes: self-defense and sadistic. Let me first talk about sadistic lies… This type of lying is a form of violence and intentionally aims to attack the other. Perversion is not just a phenomenon specific to sexuality. The false worlds we witnessed in both Macbeth and Iago are produced by the perverted side of the self. According to Freud, the psychotic side replaces reality, the neurotic side suppresses reality, and the perverted side denies reality and denies. In these cases, lies are typically intended to construct an interesting, expressive and likeable version of the self. The lies here provide a sense of securing object love to the person by establishing a “do not self” instead of the “real” self that feels not to be loved.
In the second scenario, the object is experienced by the person as a threat to be avoided or bypassed / overcome.
