Artificial intelligence to complete Beethoven’s unfinished symphony

Artificial intelligence to complete Beethoven's unfinished 10th Symphony

German composer Ludwig van Beethoven was unable to complete the 10th symphony because his life was not enough. The 10th Symphony of the great composer Beethoven, whose 250th anniversary will be celebrated in 2020, will be completed by artificial intelligence.

A working group including composers, musicologists, computer science experts and renowned pianist Robert David Levin will come together and help to end Beethoven’s work. The artificial intelligence developed within the scope of this project has already begun the process of completing the 10th symphony thanks to the algorithm prepared from all the works of Beethoven and the notes left behind.

Matthias Röder, Director of the Karajan Institute, coordinates the project. Röder says that he follows with surprise all stages of the project. Because the data presented by the algorithm is a new surprise for the scientists involved in the project. The work of Beehtoven, who lost his life while working on the 10th symphony, will be performed by the Beethoven Orchestra in Bonn, the birthplace of Beethoven. Presumably on April 28, 2020, we will have the chance to hear the finished work.
