Apple ends 18-year iTunes app

Apple, announced in 2001, Steve Jobs for the first time the multimedia manager announced that iTunes will no longer be used. Apple has decided to close iTunes and integrate it into three different existing applications. The services provided under the iTunes app will now be available in Apple Music, Apple Podcasts and Apple TV.

Apple announced its decision to shut down iTunes last year at the World Developers Conference (WWDC) in the US state of Silicon Valley, California. Mac users will be able to access content downloaded from iTunes via Apple Music. ITunes application will remain the same on devices using Windows operating system.

In the presentation, the company introduced the new operating system, iOS 13, and new security measures. ”Privacy is a fundamental human right,’ said Apple’s software manager Craig Federighi, explaining a series of new security measures.

For applications that request location information, the option to receive confirmation before each use will be provided and these applications will be prevented from detecting Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals.

In addition, a new user registration system, which stores the user’s e-mail address and private data, is introduced to log in to different applications. Many applications are currently being entered using login information from users’ existing social media accounts. This undermines the security of users’ private information.

In the registration system brought by Apple users without entering their personal e-mail addresses, Apple will be able to register applications with a random address, but the e-mail from the application will come to the user’s original address. This step of Apple was also welcomed by experts.
