A true veteran of animation, DON MACKINNON (Animation Director) has called the Walt Disney Company home since 1989. The Australian native started as General Manager of, what is now known as, DisneyToon Studios Australia in Sydney. MacKinnon has served as director of several animated series for Walt Disney Television Animation. In 2002, he won the coveted Emmy Award for directing an episode of the critically acclaimed Teacher's Pet. MacKinnon has also lent his talents to “Buzz Lightyear Star Command,” “Tarzan and Jane,” “The Adventures of Tarzan,” and “Lilo and Stitch.”
He is the recipient of numerous Emmy Awards and nominations, a Ruben Award from the National Cartoonists Society, a 2001 BAFTA Award, several Annie Awards and a Clio Award. In 1998, MacKinnon decided to bring his talents states-side and he became Key Animator on “Piglet's Big Movie,” released in theaters in 2002. He continues to work in the Hundred and Acre Wood. MacKinnon's next project can be seen on Disney DVD in the fall in “Pooh's Heffalump Halloween” from DisneyToon Studios.
