CLAY A. GRIFFITH (production designer) started his film career as a set decorator and quickly moved into the select ranks of that field to work on some of the most distinctive and memorable films in recent years including: “Seven,” “As Good As It Gets,” and “Sleepless in Seattle.”
“Elizabethtown” marks Griffith's fifth film with writer/director Cameron Crowe. Early in his career, he was fortunate enough to work with Crowe on his debut film “Say Anything…” The association proved fruitful for both men as their relationship continued with Griffith serving as set decorator on “Singles” and “Jerry Maguire.” Crowe then offered him his first opportunity as production designer on the filmmaker's critically acclaimed “Almost Famous.” His production design for that film garnered a nomination for Excellence in Production Design from the Art Director's Guild.
His additional production design credits include: “Radio,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Domestic Disturbance” and “Prozac Nation.” Griffith's work will next be seen in writer / director Curtis Hanson's Las Vegas poker drama “Lucky You,” starring Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore.
