Carolyn Hennesy, a Los Angeles native, has been in over 100 theatrical productions spanning the Los Angeles, regional and international theater scenes. Trained at the American Conservatory Theater and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, as well as earning a dramatic scholarship to the California State University at Northridge, she has played such distinguished houses as the Mark Taper Forum, Arizona Theater Company and the Geary Stage.
Hennesy studied with the Groundlings in the early `90s and became a member of the prestigious Sunday Company. She joined the main company at the ACME Comedy Theater where she performed for five years to critical acclaim. She has performed in the all-star improv show “The Cream” (also at ACME) and was a founding member of the all-female improve troupe, “Ovaryaction”.
Hennesy is the 2000 recipient of the prestigious Natalie Schafer Award for Outstanding Comedic Actress given by the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle, and has been featured as an “Actor's Actor” in the industry publication Backstage-West. Theater credits include “Acting Alone” (Elephant Asylum), “The Fan Maroo” (Theater of NOTE), “What I Did For Love” (McCadden), “Tongue of a Bird” and “Nothing Sacred” (Mark Taper Forum), “The Heidi Chronicles” (Arizona Theater Company), “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Julius Caesar,” and “The Lion In Winter” (Knightsbridge).
