Rihanna (full name: Robyn Rihanna Fenty) has appeared twice before on the show. In April 2010, she performed her song “Rockstar 101,” and returned the following April to belt out her song “California King Bed.”
As season 11 winds to a close, other guest performers are also being brought aboard. On the May 10 results show, “Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez will perform her single “Dance Again.” Season Seven winner David Cook will also be in attendance to perform “The Last Song I’ll Write for You.”
Marc Anthony has put the legal machinery in motion, officially filing for divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
In the petition, filed Monday with the Los Angeles Superior Court, Anthony seeks dissolution for “irreconcilable differences,” along with joint physical and legal custody of the couple’s 4-year-old twins, Max and Emme.
As for the money? Well, that’s to be determined, as Anthony “has not yet determined the full nature and extent of his separate assets and debts,” according to divorce documents obtained by TMZ. Legal costs are to be paid by the separate parties, and he’s suggesting she not seek spousal support.
The couple announced their split last July, making it two failed marriages for him and three for her.
Since then Lopez, 42, has moved on with dancer Casper Smart, who celebrated his 25th birthday recently by receiving a customized truck as a gift from his lady friend. Anthony, 43, and Venezuelan model Shannon de Lima went public with a relationship earlier this year.
Anthony and Lopez continue to work together on “Q’Viva,” searching for new Latin American talent.
Jennifer Lopez owns Britney and Beyonce looks In ‘T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)’ video.
Apparently, the flesh-toned body suit Jennifer Lopez wore during her performance at the American Music Awards last month was a hit. The 42-year-old mother of toddler twins looks incredible suited up in a similar one piece, this one black and lace, for will.i.am’s new video, “T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever),” for which she sings the chorus.
Despite will.i.am’s spectacular special effects in the clip, the recently separated superstar rumored to be dating a much younger man steals the limelight. The Black Eyed Peas frontman catapults himself from a speeding bike, stands atop of a racing train, and flies a spaceship, but viewers will walk away remembering J. Lo.
In another sequence, Lopez flaunts stilettos, thigh-high stockings and a leotard. These looks were first popularized by then twenty-something pop stars Britney Spears and Beyonce. Britney was strategically covered with diamonds in her “Toxic” video, and wore a two-piece nude bodysuit for the 2000 VMAs. The leotards Beyonce wore for her “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” video were just as popular as the anthemic song. But time will tell whether the ladies will be able to don the styles in 10 years when they are J. Lo’s age.
The legendary Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, who appears in the third verse of the song and video, following J. Lo, gets lost in the mix. Jagger, the subject of Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Jagger,” lives up this his reputation, but here J. Lo is simply too tough an act to follow.
“T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)” is the first single from will.i.am’s forthcoming solo album, “#willpower,” due out in 2012.
The “T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever)” video is not embedded in the blog because it includes inappropriate language.
The star performs a song onstage with look-alikes of Diddy, Ben Affleck, and Marc Anthony.
Jennifer Lopez was spreading the love on Saturday night, but deep inside she was feeling mixed emotions. At her jam-packed Mohegan Sun concert in Montville, Conn., the 42-year-old put together a bit focused around her love songs.
“You want to talk about love? I can talk about love. Oh, the stories!” she said during a heartfelt speech to the audience before breaking out with her hit “If You Had My Love.” Afterwards she said, “That’s the first song I wrote about love. And this is the last song I wrote about love. A lot has happened since then!”
As she belted out one of her newer songs, a montage of male and female dance pairs whirled behind her. They paid homage to her past romances: her with a Diddy-esque person, her and a Ben Affleck type and lastly her and a Marc Anthony lookalike.
“A little trip down memory lane,” the star, who separated from her husband of seven years Marc Anthony in July, said, as she paused and looked down. When the camera zoomed in and showed her starting to tear up, the crowd gave her a standing ovation.
Despite her marital woes, Jennifer Lopez celebrated her birthday Miami style. According to People magazine, the star – who turned 42 on Sunday – spent the weekend hitting the town.
On Saturday night, J.Lo was spotted at Scott Conant’s restaurant, Scarpetta, at the Fontainebleau hotel with a group of 16 people, which included her mother, sister and various members of her entourage.
“Jennifer looked radiant in a purple and silver evening dress,” a source told the mag. “And when they brought out her birthday cake after the meal, she began to sing. She was very happy. The whole group had a blast, staying for hours. They closed down the restaurant.”
The group dined on Italian delicacies, including spaghetti with tomato and basil and foie gras ravioli.
Earlier on Saturday, J.Lo was seen shopping near South Beach, where she hit up Hermes, Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Pucci.
On Friday, the newly single-star, who announced her split from husband Marc Anthony earlier this month, had a pre-birthday bash at Miami’s Wine Cellar of the Forge.
While dining with friends and family, a source said J.Lo “was chatty and charming.”
The couple announces that they are calling it quits after seven years together.
After seven years of marriage, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have separated, their rep tells Us Weekly exclusively.
“We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to amicable conclusion on all matters,” they said in a statement. “It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
The couple are parents to three-year-old twins Max and Emme.
Crooner Anthony, 42, was conspicuously absent at Saturday’s star-packed BAFTA Brits to Watch bash in L.A., where wife Lopez, 40, met Prince William and Duchess Kate with mom Guadalupe as her date.
Friends for years, Lopez and Anthony dated briefly in the 1990s. They stepped out again as a couple in early 2004, shortly after Lopez’s broken engagement from Ben Affleck, and in the midst of Anthony’s divorce from first wife, former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. They wed at a quiet home wedding in June 2004.
Just last year, they renewed their wedding vows for their sixth anniversary at their Hidden Hills, Calif. estate June 5. “We realized the bets in Vegas [on whether we’d make it] stopped at five years,” Anthony joked to Us at the time. (The duo also renewed their vows in 2008, and playfully dirty-danced together at Us Weekly’s Hot Hollywood bash in April 2010.)
And as recently as January, singer, actress and American Idol judge Lopez gushed on the Ellen DeGeneres Show about being a parent with Anthony. “As soon as I had the babies, I thought to myself, ‘I want to do this a thousand more times…I love this. This is life.”
Anthony and first wife Torres share sons Cristin, 10, and Ryan, 7. Lopez (who famously dated Sean Combs in addition to Affleck), had been married twice before: to restauranteur Ojani Noa (they split in 1998) and former backup dancer Cris Judd, to whom she was married from 2001 to 2003.
The 41-year-old star loves glamming it up, but her favorite look may surprise you.
Jennifer Lopez has been named People’s Most Beautiful Woman of 2011. While the gorgeous 41-year-old “American Idol” host spends a lot of time getting glammed up for red carpet events, Lopez tells the mag she prefers the time she spends at home with hubby Marc Anthony and their 3-year-old twins, Max and Emme, without having a stitch of makeup on her face.
“That’s when I’m happiest,” she smiles. “Just being able to touch my face and rub my eyes and put my fingers in my hair and not having to worry about messing it up is so much better.” As for her “diva” reputation, J.Lo admits, “I kind of like it. We’ve kind of owned it now. But I certainly don’t like and I’ve never been a person who has what they call ‘diva behavior,’ which is something they tried to pin on me for a long time.”
Jennifer Lopez has canceled a concert planned for the Turkish part of Cyprus occupied by the following criticism that the appearance would make a political statement, an entertainment website reported.
“Jennifer Lopez would never knowingly support any state, country, institution or regime that has been associated with any form of abuse of human rights,” a representative of the singer and actress said Thursday TMZ website.
“After a thorough review of relevant circumstances in Cyprus, it was the management decision to withdraw from the appearance. It was a team decision that reflects our sensitivity to political realities in the region.”
Lopez was to perform July 24 at a new hotel and casino in Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus. But the plans have drawn criticism, including the United States American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association, which made the concert would give more credibility to the 1974 invasion by Turkey, which led to a partition of the island.
Association President Nicholas Karacostas protested that the appearance of Lopez would be “used to lend credence to an illegal entity recognized only by Turkey at the international level, and that is unfortunate.”
Cyprus has been divided since Turkey occupied the north in response to a coup Athens and Nicosia aimed at uniting the island with Greece. The TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus) is recognized only by Turkey, which maintains troops on the Turkish Cypriot side, while the Greek Cypriot south of the island enjoys international recognition.
