Some of the users who want to delete posts that they shared on Facebook state that there is no delete button. Users said that this situation is disturbing.
We may want to delete the shares we made through the media channels. The simplest may be photos that we’ve got worse, or a post that we’ve written incorrectly. Facebook has removed the delete button for some users, there has been great reactions.
According to Venturebeat, the option to delete from the menu at the top right of posts does not appear for some users and therefore posts are not deleted. The deletion option for the same users appears in the mobile site and application.
The option to delete posts is said to be hidden under the less-used “Event Log”. Such a move may be enough to discourage many users from deleting their posts.
Facebook is likely to be testing this kind of change. There may be several reasons why the company does not want us to delete posts. For example, older posts are used in advertising algorithms and “Memories” posts help create extra interaction. In addition, Facebook thinks that sharing as much as possible and leaving what we share will be more profitable for itself.
Even if this new feature doesn’t come true, it’s important to note that Facebook keeps a backup of your account data, and that the photos you’ve deleted may be left on Mark Zuckerberg’s hard drive.
