Ukraine wins Eurovision 2022 in Turin, Italy

The grand final of the 66th Eurovision Song Contest took place in Turin, Italy. After the first and second semi-finals, Ukraine was the winner of 2022 among the 25 countries that made it to the grand final.

The winner of Eurovision 2022, which is followed with enthusiasm in European countries and Australia, was Ukraine with 631 points. Representing Ukraine in the grand final of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, the song “Stefania” by Kalush Orchestra took the first place. The United Kingdom followed Ukraine with 466 points. Spain was third with 459 points. Sweden placed 4th and Serbia 5th. On the other hand, among the competing countries, Germany got the lowest score with only 6 points and finished the final in the last place.

Specially for the final night, the winner of Eurovision 2021, Italian group Maneskin, took the stage. According to the jury votes announced before the public votes, United Kingdom received the highest number of votes. When the results of the public vote were announced, Ukraine rose to the first place and won the contest. Also this year, due to Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) banned Russia from participating in Eurovision.
