Rainbow I Love You Lyrics by The New Inspiration

The New Inspiration was a Belgian music band from the 60s. The group was founded around the early 1960s under the name The Black Fellows and performed well in the Ghent club circuit as a dance band. The home of the band was the TF-Club (the later Theater Arena) and the manager was Ghent police chief Walter Hellbyck. After three years, the group name was changed to New Inspiration under the influence of the new manager of the Jacques Verdonck group.

The success did not come to an end and the debut single I Got a Feeling (1967) became a hit and one of the favorite albums of Radio Caroline. Later recordings such as You Made a Fool of Me (1967), I See No Reason Why (1968), Mister Moody (1969) and Happy Charly Madman (1969) also became relative hits with an average sale of around 35,000 units. The group was allowed to record in England and some songs appeared on the prestigious Apple label of The Beatles. However, due to many staff changes, the group fell apart around 1970. Band members included Danny Sinclair, Daniel Prove and Gilbert Remue. Danny Sinclair decided to start a solo project.

Shortly thereafter, manager Jacques Verdonck founded a “new” New Inspirations with key figures Guido Wolfaert and Eddy Vander Linden. The group achieved some new successes with songs such as Rainbow I Love You (1970) and Judy Please (1969), but again the band shows the same disease and the many staff changes make the band fall apart.

Rainbow I Love You (1971)

I lost my heart in a rainbow
On my last journey to the sun
My heart is changing all the weather
I’m crying, I’m crying all the time
I can’t get sleep, I can’t get right without you
Rainbow, I love you
Love will never die
Nanana…
I hope this heart will change the people
And all they do and all they want
The rainbow…
