Emilia Clarke wishes to be first female Bond

As Daniel Craig set to quit after 13 years, Emilia Clarke was nominated to become the first female James Bond. In an interview with Empire magazine, Game of Thrones and Last Christmas star were asked if she was interested in portraying the character.

Emilia Clarke replied, “Yes! Of course! Absolutely yes! James Bond is one of those coolest movie series. Even if you were the most empty James Bond in the world, it would still be cool.”

Several actors, including Michelle Dockery in Downton Abbey, announced her candidacy for becoming the first female Bond.

Lashana Lynch, who has been rumored to get the title 007 in the new film No Time To Die, is now a strong candidate.

Phoebe Waller-Brigde, the creator and star of Fleabag, is a co-author of the script. This makes Waller-Bridge the second woman to write a script for this film series.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Craig rejected the allegations that Waller-Bridge had been hired to diversify the representation behind the camera, saying it was “complete nonsense.”

Craig, “He’s a great writer. Why not include Phoebe in Bond?” he noted. Craig also added that Waller-Bridge was hired on his own suggestion after being a fan of Fleerag and Killing Eve by Waller-Bridge.
