According to the decision of the board of directors of the Venice Biennale, headed by Paolo Baratta, Cate Blanchett, the two Oscar-winning actors of productions such as Blue Jasmine, Where’d You Go Bernadette, Carol, Elizabeth and The Aviator, will be the jury chairman of the 77th Venice Film Festival. Blanchett accepted the offer of the jury, saying: “I am waiting for the selection of Venice every year with hope and it is surprising and different every year. it’s a privilege and pleasure for me to be president. ”
Last year, the Argentine director of Zama, Lucrecia Martel, was the jury chairman of the Venice Film Festival. In addition, the Joker was nominated for an Academy Award this year. The 77th Venice Film Festival will take place this year from 2 September to 12 September.
