When a group of kids find Jules Verne's original manuscript for his book "Journey to the Center of the Earth," they discover that he actually took the trip himself, and using the manuscript as a map, they follow his course into the earth's core.

In this update of Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth," Brendan Fraser will portray a geologist who, with his teenage son, discovers a message hidden in an ancient artifact, leading them into a previously unseen world. "Journey 3-D" will be shot in live action, with the otherworldly landscapes and creatures supplied by high-definition, photo-real 3-D technology.

During a scientific expedition in Iceland, visionary scientist Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser), his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson) and their beautiful local guide, Hannah (Anita Briem), are trapped in a cave from which their only escape is to go deeper and deeper into the depths of the Earth.
Traveling through never-before-seen worlds, the trio comes face-to-face with surreal and unimaginable creatures-including man-eating plants, giant flying piranha, glow birds and terrifying dinosaurs from days past. The adventurers realize that as volcanic activity increases around them, they must find a way back to the Earth's surface before it is too late.
