JOEL MCNEELY

A graduate in composition from the distinguished Eastman School of Music, JOEL MCNEELY (Score Composer/Conductor) has composed the scores for nearly 40 films and television series, including Walt Disney Pictures' animated feature films “The Jungle Book 2” and “Return to Never Land,” live action movies “The Stepford Wives,” “Holes,” “Uptown Girls,” “Ghosts of the Abyss,” and “Soldier,” Jim Cameron's series “Dark Angel,” and the animated series “Tiny Toon Adventures.” He has conducted more than 30 albums of classic film music, including an entire collection of works by noted Hitchcock film composer Bernard Herrmann, for Varese Records. Those works include the first-ever Gramophone Award for his work on an album of the score to “Vertigo.”
McNeely's work on the series “The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles” won him an Emmy. His early musical training was as a jazz musician, focusing on the saxophone.
