All about The Hunger Games 2023. The new chapter of the Hunger Games franchise, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, has taken its place in movie theaters starting November 17, 2023. The film takes place many years before the events of the main series starring Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.
Coriolanus Snow, whom we know as the cruel president of Panem during the 74th Hunger Games, in which Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) participated, is only 18 years old in this story and acts as a mentor in the Hunger Games to restore the honor of his family, which was in a bad situation after the war in the Capitol.
When he meets Lucy Gray, a poor girl from District 12, Snow thinks they have no chance of winning. However, Lucy Gray changes the fate of both of them by attracting the attention of all of Panem with the song she sang during the harvest ceremony. Combining their showmanship instincts and newfound political savvy, Snow and Lucy race against time to survive, ultimately revealing who is the songbird and who is the snake…
In “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes”, young Snow will be played by Tom Blyth (Benediction, The Gilded Age), and Lucy Gray will be played by Rachel Zegler, who made her debut in Spielberg’s “West Side Story”.
The main playmaker of the 10th Hunger Games, Dr. Viola Davis as Volumnia Gaul, Jason Schwartzman as Lucretius “Lucky” Flickerman, the host of the games and the voice of Panem, and Peter Dinklage as Casca Highbottom, the dean of the Academy where the children of wealthy families in the Capitol are educated, are also among the cast of the film.
Francis Lawrence, who directed the original Hunger Games trilogy, returned to the director’s chair for the film, adapted from Suzanne Collins’ book. The script was written by Michael Arndt and Michael Lesslie.
