Morgan Stanley not to expect a new interest rate increase

Fed interest rate. Morgan Stanley Senior US Economist Ellen Zentner said that she does not expect an interest rate increase from the Fed at its November meeting. Zentner said in a podcast he participated in, regarding the Fed’s interest rate hikes to fight inflation, “I think the Fed is done here now. But they left the door open,” bhe said.

Zentner said that inflation has started to fall, so the bank will not make any changes until it cuts interest rates next year. “The possibility of a government shutdown by Republicans in the short term could deprive policymakers of the economic data they need to make decisions,” Zentner said. “This may strengthen the thesis of the authorities waiting for the November meeting,” she said.

While the Fed kept the policy rate constant as expected at September 19 – 20 meeting, most Fed officials signaled another interest rate increase this year.
