The Matrix Resurrections star: This movie is funnier than the original trilogy

“Slightly different in tone,” said Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, star of The Matrix Resurrections, said that the new movie will be funny compared to the original trilogy. In an interview with Abdul-Mateen, who plays Morpheus, British GQ’s Jonathan Dean stated that the film looks fun compared to previous productions.

The successful actress replied, “I hope so,” and said:

“This movie is a little different in tone.”

Abdul-Mateen, 35, previously said that the new film will allow viewers to see the series from a whole new perspective.

The actor compared The Matrix: Ressurrections to the movie Candyman, which was released on August 27, and used the following statements:

“It’s not much different. Both are beloved classics. They come with a great expectation of perfection and the audience can’t wait to see them. And it’s nice to be a part of it.”

Of course, both films offer the opportunity to add your own flair to the moments and characters,” said Abdul-Mateen.

“And we look forward to doing that with The Matrix as we did with Candyman’s Curse. All are opportunities to tell fresh, fresh stories, change the narrative and add a new perspective.”

In addition to Abdul-Mateen, Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and Neil Patrick Harris star in the film, which will have an 18-year-old limit. The Matrix Resurrections will be released in nationwide theaters on December 22, 2021.
