Sharon Kovacs: Much more than “My Love”

Sharon Kovacs: Much more than "My Love"

Sharon Kovacs, born on April 15, 1990 in Baarlo, The Netherlands, has been involved in music since his childhood, but the lack of support from anyone in his family caused him to lack support for the first time to earn her life from music. Interestingly; It was very difficult for her to adopt her completely different style and voice to the people around her, especially her vocal teachers. Despite all these external factors, she continued to see music as the cornerstone of her life, and the conflicts may have further strengthened her.

Music was a therapy for her, and singing was improving her soul, which she thought was incomprehensible. While she was in high school, she attracted attention by participating in various music groups and singing at the parties in the club she worked for, and on the other hand, she continued her successful student life, and by taking the exam of the music school named “Rock City Institute” in Eindhoven, where she still resides, it was.

Sharon Kovacs, with her “My Love” EP, consisting of 4 songs, “My Love”, “He Talks That Shit”, “When the Lady’s Hurt”, “I’ve Seen That Face”, released on May 9, 2014. She made a successful debut and made her name known to millions. Then she won the 2015 Edison Pop – Nieuwkomer award.

“My love, diamond rings and Chevrolets
My love, aces high and cigarettes
My love, faking all like Hollywood
My love, love, love.”

She recorded her first album “Shades of Black” with the famous producer of The Netherlands, Oscar Holleman, whom he met when he was 19, and the album released on April 3, 2015 attracted great attention. It is also interesting that they met Holleman: Kovacs got the phone at night after posting the song “Strange” on Facebook and they met at the studio the next day.

Sharon Kovacs, who we hosted at the 2nd Harvest Festival, stated in her interview before the concert that the fact that his music was real and honest is very important. When asked about the genre of his music: “It always has a dark side, but it is also full of hope. I never know exactly how I can describe it. Soul, Pop, Noir, Jazz… I’m under various influences.” said.
