Bad Boys for Life: Welcome to third sequel after 17 years

Bad Boys for Life (2020)

We all know the sequels and the re-cycles of Hollywood, action-crime-comedy trio, which come after the high box office success. Even the horror cinema in the Far East has not attracted so much, dear audience! This week, we return to the Bad Boys duo, the story of Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, who came to the third ‘sequel’ 17 years after the second movie in 2003.

Michael Bay, who was 30 years old and had not signed Armageddon, Pearl Harbor or Transformers, was sitting in the director’s chair of the first film made in 1995. In 2003, Mr did not leave his characters orphans and reigned as admiral to lead Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The new movie in 2020 is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who have worked together in films such as Black, Image, Gansta. Although we do not have any general impression as we have not seen any of his previous works in his filmographies, it is possible to say that they are making a smooth hand-held movie for a job in this concept; at least for the first half of the movie.

Unfortunately, we have a scenario with obvious problems. If we briefly touch on the subject; Marcus, who is a detective duo who has been working in the narcotic unit for many years, is now a grandfather and wants to spend more time with his family as retired. Mike, who has not been able to get a stitch, neither family nor beloved, is determined to continue chasing criminals until the end of the road. And when Mike is targeted at the bullets of an assassin from the winner one day, things turn up for both.

Bad Boys for Life (2020)

From this point on, the script backbone sits on the ‘mysterious’ bond and cat-mouse chaser between the assassin and Mike. Mike is chasing, the man is running away; he even slips through his hands and fingers. This cat-and-mouse game reduces the tempo from time to time, but it increases the film for an additional half an hour even though it increases.

On the other hand, bulletproof Mike Lowrey pursues solving his case in his own way, while murders are committed one after another for retired members of security and judiciary. While trying to highlight Mike’s characteristic, for example, I think my hand makes a logical mistake; The high-tech police unit assigned to solve the case cannot solve the background of the murders targeting 3 obviously related people, for 6 months! Unfortunately this is just one of many glaring gaps.

From the second half of the movie, it becomes easier to solve the “big secret”. Bingo! We, as the audience, resolved the inference Mike made by looking at a few documents; but okay. The surprise news action comedy we received is suddenly evolving into the Brazilian soap opera for the characters of the movie. When we teleport to the Mexican leg of the film, keeping the famous ‘wall’ in mind, which Trump still has not brought to life but continues to defend his philosophy, we encounter the tillah of the othering. Not only does American blacks sit opposite the Mexican drug lord, it also manages to get a witch out of this frame! We got used to the masculine point of view making women around men an ornamental doll, but the othering of this witch has become a legend, my friend!

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence play with this character, without knowing what they know, knowing their characters well. In the roles formed, the comics and jokes that will catch the audience are in their place; Interactions with side-cast players are also lagging behind. But, to some extent, here.

In short, the third sequel of this crime comedy, which again puts two black actors in the leading roles, is waiting for the ‘happy’ audience to watch the action movie without disturbing a scout that bursts the others in the pit without identifying him with a strong character.
