A pleasant sea voyage between fjords in cold weather

A pleasant sea voyage between fjords in cold weather

Norway is one of the leading countries that embellish dreams with northern lights for some, beautiful hiking routes and camping areas for others, and fjords with epic beauty. The best way to discover fjords is an enjoyable cruise. I made a full nine-day travel plan in Norway. I discovered many beautiful places by train, bus, ship and boat from time to time. I left a part of my heart in Norway.

Norway is a country where you can see the most beautiful landscapes on the earth and hosts many waterfalls and world-famous fjords. When there are so many things to do and to do, it is necessary to spend serious work on ‘where to start and how to plan the trip’. Travel planning becomes even more important, especially if you want to have unique experiences on your travels and see as many places as possible in a short time.

For proper planning, it is first necessary to determine the purpose of your Norway trip. If you want to go after an impressive natural event like the northern lights and experience the fun of sledding with crazy husky, long and cold winter days are the right time for you. However, when the aim of the trip is to discover the unique nature of Norway and to make short trips by ship on the fjords, it is necessary to prefer long summer days where the sun almost never sets.

Words are not enough

Ship trips may be long for some travel times. In addition, spending as much time in nature as possible and traveling fast are also preferred by many travelers. It is possible to see world-famous fjords as well as to have a pleasant cruise experience, albeit short. Norway Nutshell is a good guide for planning a trip on your own in Norway. It offers many options, from where to start your trip, where to go, in which hotels to stay, whether you want to cruise a part of your trip, and allows you to plan a flexible trip.

The gate of Norway to the fjords is the city of Bergen. You can reach towns and cities such as Åndalsnes, Ålesund, Bergen with a pleasant train and bus journey from Oslo. The landscapes you will see along the way and the red cute north houses fascinate you so much that you do not know with which words you can express your appreciation. The panoramic trains that you will ride in some towns give you time to slow down and take pictures and digest these beauties.

There is no fjord cruise without a ship

If you say, “Which fjords should I see?” If you have time, be sure to include important fjords such as “Geiranger”, the most beautiful fjord of “Norway” with the largest fjords “Sogne” and “Hardanger”. During our travel, we reached the city of ‘Ålesund, which resembled a cute fishing town with a train and bus journey from Oslo. The next day, I think, we made our cruise to Geiranger, the most beautiful fjord of Norway.

As I was on a cruise ship for the first time on this trip, I first examined the ship with curiosity. Every comfort was provided for the passengers to watch the view comfortably on the ship. Although it is summer, the weather can be quite cool or even cold in the fjords. While there are cruise lounges for the passengers who want to sit inside, there are sun loungers for those who want to enjoy the view outside. As the ship sails, you see scenes that surprise and excite you every time, waterfalls that you can’t remember starting from the top of the mountains and pouring into the sea. Geiranger fjord can be seen during the cruise trip in the famous ‘Seven Sisters Waterfall’.

In this pleasant four-hour cruise, you pass through the Geiranger fjord and reach the town of Geiranger. We made our transformation to Ålesund by bus. Before the bus leaves you on your way to a viewing terrace where you can see the Geiranger Fjord in panoramic view, you cannot believe the reality of the view. However, a few hours ago, you were driving in that landscape with the ship. Then you say “I am glad I chose to return by bus”.

One night on the ship towards Bergen

One of the most exciting moments of the trip was about 12-13 hours of cruise ship travel from Ålesund to Bergen. After checking the reservations at the reception, cabin cards were given and we settled in our room. The rooms are very large, clean, comfortable and convenient. There is also a bathroom and toilet. The facilities on the ship meet your needs. The breakfast included in the room rate is also quite rich and delicious. If you are lucky enough to go to Bergen and come to a sunny weather, grab the sun loungers outside and enjoy the view.

We had a full nine-day trip in Norway. We discovered beautiful views by train, bus, ship and boat from time to time. Norway is a country that you will realize that it is as beautiful as what is described, and even more beautiful when you see and experience it with your own eyes. I left part of my heart in Norway with the postcard-like landscapes I engraved into my mind and I have already started dreaming of the day I will go to this beautiful country again.
