All-girls K-pop music group Blackpink’s new music video “Kill This Love, broke the record of being the fastest-reaching video on YouTube with the fastest 100 million hits, achieving this rate in just three days.

“Kill This Love” which was released on April 4 and now has close to 145 million views, became the most watched video in YouTube history with 56.7 million views in the first 24 hours. The record breaking of the clip is not limited to these. Video Simultaneously ”979,000 people watched the video, making it the biggest YouTube premiere of all time.

The song also ranked number one on the iTunes America chart on April 4th. Historical data show that Blackpink is the first women’s group to debut in iTunes since 2004. In 2004, ’Lose My Breath Dest was the first group to hit the hill with Destiny’s Child. Blackpink declared his victory 15 years later.

Founded in 2016 and rising with the hit “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du”, BlackPink signed with American record label Interscope last year. On the same date, “Kill This Love” EP is the band’s first partnership with Interscope. Blackpink is currently preparing for his performance at Coachella, one of the world’s most eventful music festivals, which will take place from April 12th to April 21st.

This year, the festival will be featured for Childish Gambino, Janelle Monáe, Solange, Anderson. Paak, Tame Impala, Aphex Twin, Blood Orange, Weezer and dozens of other popular names. After the festival, Blackpink will tour North America. K-pop’s trap, hip-hop and electro-pop, and the Blackpink-style demi, seem to be one of the most powerful definitions of the new pop.
