The purpose of horror films is to scare the audience, to make them sleepless or to make them feel uncomfortable. Although many successful horror films do well enough, their impact on us doesn’t last long, and we forget some of them completely after a few years. However, this does not apply to the films on our list. Without further ado, there are horror movies that you’ll be very uncomfortable to watch and never want to watch again!
The Girl Next Door (2007)

Based on Jack Ketchum’s novel with the same title, which is based on the true story of Sylvia Likens, who was tortured and killed in 1965 in Indiana.
The movie starts in contemporary New York City when 50ish stock trader David Moran (William Atherton) sees a homeless man hit by a car. He acts immediately to save the man’s life by giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Later, at home, Moran sits studying a drawing obviously made by a child. The incident that day has reminded him of a time in the summer of 1958 when he failed to act to save a life. The rest of the film proceeds as a flashback.
Teenage David Moran (Daniel Manche) is down catching crawfish at the local stream when he runs into the new girl in town, 16 year-old Megan Loughin (Blythe Auffarth). Megan and her little sister, ten year-old Susan (Madeline Taylor), have just moved in with David’s next door neighbor, divorcee Ruth Chandler (Blanche Baker) and her three sons. Meg and Susan have recently been orphaned after a car accident that left Susan crippled.
I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013)

An older German man identifies himself as a retired surgeon specialized in separating Siamese twins. However, his three “patients” are not about to be separated but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first person to connect people via their gastric systems. By doing so, he plans to bring to life his sick lifetime fantasy, the human centipede.
Insidious (2010)

The teacher Josh Lambert and his wife Renai move with their three children, the boys Dalton and Foster and the baby Cali, to a big house. When Dalton is exploring the attic, he falls from the ladder and hits the head on the floor. On the next morning, Dalton does not wake up and stays in coma, but the doctors are not able to diagnose his problem.
Three months later, weird things happen in the house and Renai sees apparitions. She is sure that the house is haunted and convinces Josh to move to another house. Sooner Renai sees ghosts in the new house and Josh does not believe in his wife. But his mother Lorraine tells him that she had also had a vision of a fiend in Dalton’s room. They invite the medium and Lorraine’s old friend Elise Rainier, who brings her team of ghost hunters Specs and Tucker to investigate the supernatural phenomenon.

Accompanied by her 12 year-old daughter Regan, actress Chris McNeil relocates to Washington D.C. where she is filming a movie. Mother and daughter have a good relationship but after a time Regan begins to act strangely. She undergoes various neurological tests but doctors can find nothing to explain her behavior.
As Regan’s situation reaches crisis proportions – she has to be tied to her bed, swears like a sailor and speaks in tongues – Chris turns to Father Karras, a Roman Catholic priest and psychiatrist to see if an exorcism might be the solution to their problem. Karras is incredulous but the church eventually agrees calling in Father Merrin, who has previously conducted an exorcism and come face to face with the devil.
Teeth (2007)

Dawn has an admirer in Ryan, and when when things have an unexpected twist with Tobey, she turns to Ryan for help. Will he be her mythical hero and rescue her? Or can she find her way as her own hero, turning the curse into an asset?

It might be some kind of game with the lives of husband, wife, son, and dog, but why are they doing it?
Hostel: Part II (2007)

Hostel 2 also follows 2 American men who, on the flip side of the coin, are willing to pay to join an exclusive club where a life will end at their hands…any way they like. It’s a story of human monsters and the almighty dollar as only Eli Roth could tell it.
The Woman (2011)

However, is there a place for a feral, flesh-eating primitive among civilized people? In the days to come, Chris will make the woman his project, and like a proud predator kept in captivity, with the help of his dysfunctional family, he will attempt to domesticate the untamed female by breaking her will. Soon enough though, no restraints, no training, and certainly no male supremacy will be a match for the raging woman’s raw and merciless aggression.
