The highly anticipated movie 3 Body Problem appeared on Netflix. The film was produced by David Benioff and D.B., whom we know from Game of Thrones. Weiss collaborated with Alexander Woo, who has written and produced TV series such as True Blood and The Terror.
Adapted from the first book of the award-winning Remembrance of Earth’s Past series by science fiction author Cixin Liu, the series is based on a complex orbital mechanics problem and tells how a single-handed decision made by a Chinese astrophysicist in 1966 in an alternative reality can last decades, even ages, from now on. that it has an effect; It tells about humanity’s struggle with a power hundreds of light years away from itself.
Jess Hong, Eiza González, Jovan Adepo, Alex Sharp and John Bradley join the “Oxford 5”, a group of physicist university friends – some of whom are former – around whom an interspecies, existential survival story is shaped in a world dominated by a supernatural phenomenon that makes many scientists commit suicide one by one. It gives life. Some other important characters populating the world are played by Rosalind Chao, Zine Tseng, Benedict Wong, Liam Cunningham and Jonathan Pryce. A few of the notable names in the long list of producers are Rosamund Pike, Rian Johnson and Brad Pitt.
The extensive story, which has been adapted many times both in animation and live-action, but has never been completed yet, clearly shows that it was brought to life with a budget of $200 million, which the Benioff-Weiss duo acquired from the platform in 2019, and with great ambitions.
