Annual inflation rate continues to decline in the USA. Consumer inflation was announced in the USA in April. While it was below market expectations on a monthly basis, it was seen to be in line with market expectations on an annual basis.
The US Department of Labor announced consumer price data for April. Accordingly, the cost of living of American consumers increased by 0.3 percent in April compared to the previous month. Market expectation was that CPI would increase by 0.4 percent in this period.
The country’s CPI increased by 3.4 percent on an annual basis in April. Thus, annual CPI was realized in line with the market expectation of 3.4 percent.
On the other hand, inflation in the USA was 0.4 percent monthly and 3.5 percent annually in March. Core CPI, which does not include variable energy and food prices in the country, increased by 0.3 percent monthly and 3.6 percent annually in April.
