They are forests located in tropical regions and receive very high rainfall.
They cover a large area in Latin America, Central Africa, and Southeast Asia.
It hosts 80 percent of the animals that emerged millions of years ago and live on earth.
Here the weather suddenly darkens and at night the crawling or climbing animals come out of their holes amidst screams and calls.
At least 1,500 mm of rain falls in this region annually.
It is thought that the number of living species living in these forests is between 5-30 million.
