Chandrayaan-2, designed by India to be the first spacecraft looking for water in the south pole of the Moon, could not land on the Moon after a month and a half of journey. Contact with Chandrayaan-2 cut 2 kilometers before the moon’s surface.
The spacecraft Chandrayaan-2, which India sent to the Moon, could not land on the Moon. After about a month and a half of the journey, Chandrayaan-2, which was trying to land at the South Pole, lost two kilometers to the surface. It was planned to go down in history as the ‘4th country descending to the Moon.’ The spacecraft sent by China and the Soviet Union was able to land on the moon.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech to the scientists on duty, “There are ups and downs in life. What you do is not a small success” said. Modi said they will continue their space work.
India’s first lunar mission, Chandrayaan-1, used radar technology to make the first and, to date, most comprehensive search for water on the Moon – without even landing on the surface. However, this attempt failed, causing disappointment.
