It's important to find different activities and exercises you enjoy; makes burning those calories so much fun. Everyone knows that limiting calories and increasing exercise is the right way to lose, if that is possible.
I find exercise gives me "headspace" to put things in perspective. Swimming is one of my favourites, and the pool is one place I feel completely safe. Weight training has helped me too, as my body gets stronger, so does my mind.
For cardio I would recommend taking at least 1-2 rest days per week to recover. For strength training it is best not to work the same muscle group more than a couple of times per week and you should always leave at least 24 hours between working the same group as muscle develops after resistance exercise, not during. 5-6 sessions of an hour or so of cardio per week will be plenty to get fit and healthy but should not be too much to risk injury. You may find it helps to mix up the cardio by adding cycling or the the treadmill as the body can benefit from having a wider range of exercise.
If you feel that you are experiencing some pain or feel that the exercise you are doing is too challenging we would suggest you do less exercise. If you are feeling tired, drained, and are losing strength, then you are definitely overdoing it. If you feel that your general fitness level is high enough to cope with this exercise this is fine.
