Fact 1: It’s Darker
The brand new poster for Eclipse hints at a darker tone with its brooding storm clouds. With 30 Days of Night director David Slade at the helm, it’s unsurprising. “Every movie is different because we work with a different director on each one, which I love,” Taylor Lautner tells RT. “David Slade is perfect for the third film because it’s darker. Eclipse was my favourite book.”
Ashley Greene, who plays vampire Alice, tells RT that Slade isn’t just a prince of darkness. “David is actually hysterical,” she laughs, “He has such a dry sense of humour that sometimes you don’t know if he’s kidding or not. Eclipse will be amazing because he has made it far edgier and more dramatic. It’s going to look very cool.”
Fact 2: There Will Be Less “Love Story” and More “War”
“Eclipse isn’t as intimate as Twilight or New Moon,” Robert Pattinson explains to us. “We’re at war, so I get to interact with more characters, not just Kristen. You’ll also find out more about the other members of the Cullen family. It just feels bigger.” But — fear not, Twihards — that isn’t to say the love story is cast aside altogether. “New Moon set up a love triangle with Bella, Edward and Jacob,” says Lautner. “So we explore that further in Eclipse. It’s a tough situation for all of them because Bella is torn between two guys, Jacob can’t get the girl that he loves and then there’s Edward, with all of his issues.”
In his own words, Tom Cruise share her thoughts on his famous couch jumping incident on “Oprah”, life with Katie Holmes, the importance of her children, and how he takes advice from his script girl, 4 years in Esquire in June / July “How to be a man” issue. Check out some of his quotations choice below…
On the “Oprah” incident
“The perception and reality are two different things. I am not sure if you saw the whole ‘show Oprah. “What happened, happened. Yeah, the point could be made that I wanted the audience should be happy the way I wanted to make my sisters and my mother happy When I do sketches as a kid. But I’ll take responsibility for my actions.
“The thing is, he spun on me. Subsequently, the wild things were said about me, and once they are in the ether, there is nothing you can do about it . It felt like the new kid in the school yard and the other new children are murmurs and whispers about you and suddenly you hear what they say, and you know what? This is not happened. Look the reality of the situation.
“There was a confluence of events. My deal with Paramount was increased and it has not been extended. At first it was,” Huh? “I do not understand.” But people have misconceptions about it this, too. Sumner Redstone and I are friends. Is a business.”
On his advice to the younger script, Suri Cruise
“It’s come full circle. Now, I’ll put Suri on a swing and tell stories while I work on a script. I will start by the beginning of the film and take her through the story beat by beat. Of course, I’m at the right age. She is 4 years. But it asks all the right questions: “Why is this? These are wicked? You’re the good guys, right?
“It is the same thing when I was a kid. Can I create a character who will make his happiness, will have you laughing? And guess what? It makes me feel better and better, because it still asks me do it again.”
On his relationship with Katie Holmes
“Since we live in a cynical world, it is easy to be cynical. Making the choice not to be cynical is important. You can keep dwelling on what does not, or you are can see how to remedy it. That’s what being a parent is all about. You know, I’m married to one special woman. Every night before bed, Kate and I look at each other and is like, ‘How did we do today?”
On being a father to his three children, Isabella, 17, and Connor, 15, his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, and Suri, 4, with Katie Holmes
“I will never forget the moment I became Dad. But it is difficult to describe – this level of responsibility, desire to give such joy. Clarity: Nothing is more important than that. I remember that first night, just watching Bella. I was checking his every second, just the look, feel this immediate connection. I probably watch as I keep it in place. I made a promise to her: All I can do it ‘ is better than I can. But I will not say I’ll do something and then not do it.”
Megan Fox says she wasn’t dropped from “Transformers 3.” Earlier reports said the studio had decided not to renew Fox’s option. It was reported earlier Wednesday (May 19) that the actress, who starred in the first two installments of the franchise, wouldn’t be cast in the third picture, set to shoot this summer. “Iron Man 2” that Hollywood hopes will start a lucrative summer movie on Friday, but many American critics feel the long-awaited sequel does not have the punch of its predecessor-super hero.
Actor Robert Downey Jr. dons the costume of high technology once again to fight against the nature of evil that has contributed to “Iron Man” to earn $ 585 million in worldwide box office in 2008. Most critics agreed that Downey Jr’s performance as a selfish billionaire Tony Stark has helped to overcome the shortcomings of bigger, more noisy film is pretty good but not better than the original.
“This is the jumble Downey talent that adds grace notes that do something Iron Man 2” remember, “said Peter Travers of Rolling Stone. The film, which opened a week ago outside a high of $ 100.2 million at the box office, obtained a rate of 64 per cent approval rating on rottentomatoes.com film aggregator.
Hollywood Reporter reviewer Kirk Honeycutt said the element of fun that made the 2008 original so terrible had gone into its second output. “In its place,” Iron Man 2 “has replaced the noise, confusion, many villains, stunts and stories unimportant wrong,” said Honeycutt.
Los Angeles Times film critic Kenneth Turan echoed a widespread view when he commented, “As suites go, it is acceptable, nothing more, nothing less.”

Which Came First? “The Last Song” marks the first time Nicholas Sparks has written a screenplay before he completed the novel. The book, which is Sparks’ longest novel ever, debuted as #1 on both the USA Today and New York Times bestseller lists.
What’s in a Name? Since Sparks was writing the screenplay with Miley Cyrus in mind, he allowed her to choose the name “Ronnie” for her character.
The Boy From Oz All-American boy Will Blakelee is played by an Aussie heartthrob. Liam Hemsworth is already well known in his native Australia as the star of the television series “The Elephant Princess” and “Neighbors,” as well as part of a trio of acting siblings that includes his older brothers Chris and Luke.
A Fine Kettle of Fish The aquarium scene between Ronnie and Will was filmed at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, which houses more aquatic creatures than any other aquarium in the world in tanks containing 8 million gallons of water. Liam Hemsworth was certified in scuba diving especially for the shoot and that really is him – and Miley – in the shark tank.
Back to School Liam Hemsworth’s scuba lessons weren’t the only learning experiences on this film. Miley Cyrus and Greg Kinnear, who both play gifted concert pianists, had never tickled the ivories before. Bobby Coleman and Greg Kinnear studied the art of stain glass window making with a local expert for their “father and son” project, and a former Olympic volleyball player was brought in to coach the actors for their beach scenes.
No Augtographs, Please The crucial scene in which newly-hatched loggerhead turtles make their way into the ocean was originally slated to be done with CGI, but at the last minute, the filmmakers decided to use live turtles. The 24 hatchlings that made their film debut in “The Last Song” arrived on set courtesy of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and were allowed to make their way out to sea. The two-inch long hatchlings will eventually reach three feet in length and weight up to 300 pounds.
“When I Look at You” The song that became central to this story was already scheduled to be released when the filmmakers realized it had all the heartfelt emotion they were looking for. “The Last Song” producer Adam Shankman directed the music video for the song.
Child Star Twelve-year-old Bobby Coleman started acting when he was only five, appearing opposite Oscar nominee Diane Lane in “Must Love Dogs.” In his young career he’s worked with a who’s who of Hollywood luminaries, including Oscar winner Frances McDormand, Jennifer Anniston, Ray Liotta, Michael Keaton, Catherine Keener, Minnie Driver, Joan Cusack and John Cusack.
Is That Who I Think It Is? Miley Cyrus surprised the patrons of the Tybee Island restaurant Stingray’s by dropping by from time to time to serenade them to the accompaniment of her own acoustic guitar.
Home Sweet Home “The Last Song” is set in Nicholas Sparks’ home state of North Carolina, but for the shoot, Tybee Island, near Savannah, Georgia stands in. Tybee means “salt” in the language of the indigenous Euchee people, and there is a large salt marsh on the western side of the island. Two centuries ago, Tybee was a popular hideout for pirates on the run. Today, it is a thriving resort with a picturesque lighthouse that was the tallest structure in America when it was built in 1732.
A House to Remember The filmmakers were able to secure a colonial estate built by one of the first English settlers in Georgia to use as the Blakelee mansion.
How Hot Was It? During some of the volleyball scenes, the sand was so hot, the players had to tape protective coverings to the bottoms of their feet.
The Ultimate Souvenir Greg Kinnear was so impressed by the beauty and workmanship of the stained glass window made for the film, he commissioned one for his own home from the same craftsman.
Old Friends “The Last Song” producer Adam Shankman directed the 2002 film “A Walk to Remember,” based on the Nicholas Sparks bestseller and starring Shane West and Mandy Moore.
Famly Fun Kelly Preston is a friend of the Cyrus family and she joined the cast when Miley Cyrus personally asked her to play Ronnie’s mother. Her daughter Ella was thrilled Kelly agreed to appear in the film, because she’s an avid fan of Cyrus.
Alma Mater More than 25 years ago, Nicholas Sparks and his “The Last Song” co-writer Jeff van Wie were college roommates at the University of Notre Dame where they both were on the track team. They’ve remained friends since then, but van Wie had no idea that Sparks was a successful novelist until spying a fellow traveler at the airport reading one of his old friend’s books.
