As someone who has traveled quite a lot of countries, I could not create an opportunity to go to London, or rather, to England. The only common comment from everyone; “You will definitely love London, it’s a city for you!” It was. Now I understand that my loved ones know me very well! London has left my memories a joy like that first chocolate left in the mouth. I know that the continuation will come soon.
Come on, let me talk about the city briefly;
* It is a very expensive city.
* If you want to visit this city, you need to reserve at least 4-5 days.
* You can easily reach the city by metro. There is a very advanced station network and absolutely nothing else is needed. The most economical method for subway transportation is to buy a ‘pass’ ticket, which provides unlimited transportation as much as the number of days you will stay. If you have time and trust your feet, walking around the city is a better alternative!
I would like to talk a little bit about the essential sights of London. In the Westminister District, known as the Old Town, you can see the Parliament Building, the Big Ben clock tower and the London Eye, located just across the river. Since Big Ben, London’s most famous symbol, is in renovation, we could not see it from the world, but what I learned about the tower; The bell sounds were rising from the tower every hour. In order to work without interruption, it had to be installed 3 times a day and private workers worked for it.
The Eye of London The London Eye is another iconic London symbol. It is Europe’s largest ferris wheel. It takes about half an hour to make a full turn. It is a pleasant activity especially for those who want to photograph a beautiful city view at sunset.
London is a city famous for its parks and square gardens. It is home to legendary parks that surround the city. Of course, the most important and best known is Hydepark. If the weather is nice, I would say spend at least half a day in this park. It can even be great to take small snacks with you and have a picnic in the park. Except for Hydepark, St. James Park and Green Park are also among my favorites.
Of course not without seeing Buckingham Palace. Changing the Guard is held in front of the palace every day in summer and on certain days in winter at 11.30. They have made this ceremony a touristic activity, it is very crowded, it is useful to go early if you want to see it. By the way, if you want to stop by, Saray, Green Park and St. Within walking distance of James Park.
The Soho district, where our hotel is located, is the favorite part of London’s nightlife. It is an extremely popular area with trendy restaurants and stylish cafes. You will also find plenty of London pubs in Soho, which you will find at every corner. Londoners’ favorite activity is to chat with their friends in pubs, sometimes even on the streets after work, to sip their beer!
It is also very enjoyable to walk around the most famous streets of the city by sipping your coffee and visiting the windows. Shopping is available in London for every taste. Oxford Street and Regent Street are always busy and crowded. Because they are considered the center of the city, the brands we use in daily life and which we call middle class are on this street. Bond Street, on the other hand, is a very cool street, home to the shops of world-renowned designers and even luxury brands that I have not heard of.
In addition, I liked Kings Road and Carnaby Street very much. On Kings Road, you will find boutique designers, tiny cafes and special decoration stores. Carnaby Street, on the other hand, is immediately recognizable by its pedestrian street, cute and colorful ambiance. Do not forget to stop by this street since it is close to Oxford and Regent Street.
