Spanish actors Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz tied the knot in the Bahamas earlier this month, the latter’s publicist told late Tuesday night. The wedding took place at a friend’s house, said Cruz’s publicist Amanda Silverman, without specifying exactly when it happened.
It was a small ceremony with just family members, Silverman said. Cruz wore a dress designed by her long-time friend, John Galliano. Both Bardem and Cruz are Academy Award-winning actors.
Bardem, 41, won the Oscar for best supporting actor for his role in the 2007 movie, “No Country For Old Men.” Cruz, 36, won an Oscar in 2009 for her supporting role in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” The couple started dating in 2007 and appeared on screen together in the film. Prior to that, Cruz was linked to Matthew McConaughey and Tom Cruise.
She’s ditched Jake Sully, after going through all that they did together. Sigh. Avatar’s Zoe Saldana is engaged to Keith Britton her non-Na’avi boyfriend of TEN years. Yes, ten. That’s a lifetime in Hollywood years. A source reveals, “They’ve been together forever. They’re a great couple.”
Don’t expect her to be shouting the news from rooftops, though. She’s always kept her relationship with the actor/CEO of My Fashion Database completely on the down-low. Which she plans to translate into a no-stress wedding, much like Carrie Underwood. Another source commented, “She doesn’t even introduce him as her fiancé. She will just say, ‘This is Keith.’ She likes to keep her personal life to herself and wants people to focus on her as an actress. She hasn’t stopped working to plan anything.”
Congratulations, you two! Apart from all the true love-soulmate stuff, here’s something that should keep the motor running. Saldana loves her some sexy time, telling Essence, “Love it, love it, love it — can’t live without it! I love sex.”
In his own words, Tom Cruise share her thoughts on his famous couch jumping incident on “Oprah”, life with Katie Holmes, the importance of her children, and how he takes advice from his script girl, 4 years in Esquire in June / July “How to be a man” issue. Check out some of his quotations choice below…
On the “Oprah” incident
“The perception and reality are two different things. I am not sure if you saw the whole ‘show Oprah. “What happened, happened. Yeah, the point could be made that I wanted the audience should be happy the way I wanted to make my sisters and my mother happy When I do sketches as a kid. But I’ll take responsibility for my actions.
“The thing is, he spun on me. Subsequently, the wild things were said about me, and once they are in the ether, there is nothing you can do about it . It felt like the new kid in the school yard and the other new children are murmurs and whispers about you and suddenly you hear what they say, and you know what? This is not happened. Look the reality of the situation.
“There was a confluence of events. My deal with Paramount was increased and it has not been extended. At first it was,” Huh? “I do not understand.” But people have misconceptions about it this, too. Sumner Redstone and I are friends. Is a business.”
On his advice to the younger script, Suri Cruise
“It’s come full circle. Now, I’ll put Suri on a swing and tell stories while I work on a script. I will start by the beginning of the film and take her through the story beat by beat. Of course, I’m at the right age. She is 4 years. But it asks all the right questions: “Why is this? These are wicked? You’re the good guys, right?
“It is the same thing when I was a kid. Can I create a character who will make his happiness, will have you laughing? And guess what? It makes me feel better and better, because it still asks me do it again.”
On his relationship with Katie Holmes
“Since we live in a cynical world, it is easy to be cynical. Making the choice not to be cynical is important. You can keep dwelling on what does not, or you are can see how to remedy it. That’s what being a parent is all about. You know, I’m married to one special woman. Every night before bed, Kate and I look at each other and is like, ‘How did we do today?”
On being a father to his three children, Isabella, 17, and Connor, 15, his ex-wife Nicole Kidman, and Suri, 4, with Katie Holmes
“I will never forget the moment I became Dad. But it is difficult to describe – this level of responsibility, desire to give such joy. Clarity: Nothing is more important than that. I remember that first night, just watching Bella. I was checking his every second, just the look, feel this immediate connection. I probably watch as I keep it in place. I made a promise to her: All I can do it ‘ is better than I can. But I will not say I’ll do something and then not do it.”
Megan Fox says she wasn’t dropped from “Transformers 3.” Earlier reports said the studio had decided not to renew Fox’s option. It was reported earlier Wednesday (May 19) that the actress, who starred in the first two installments of the franchise, wouldn’t be cast in the third picture, set to shoot this summer. Paramount confirmed to MTV News that the studio didn’t renew Fox’s option.
Now, Fox is saying it was she who opted out. “Megan Fox will not be starring in ‘Transformers 3,’ ” reps for the actress, 24, told People magazine. “It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best.”
Fox and Michael Bay famously exchanged heated words around the release of “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” last summer, with the actress comparing the director to Hitler and the director saying the actress “still has a lot of growing up to do.”
Despite their contentious relationship, the pair seemed set to reunite this summer for a third “Transformers” flick. But Deadline.com broke the story earlier today that Paramount had declined to pick up Fox’s contractual option for “Transformers 3” and that giving star Shia LaBeouf a “new love interest makes more sense for the story,” according to an unnamed source.
Fox’s next project, “Jonah Hex,” will be released June 18; it’s an action film also starring Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Will Arnett. “Transformers 3” is set to hit theaters July 2011.

Jessica Simpson goes back to basics for Marie Claire’s May issue, gracing the cover with zero makeup or Photoshop retouching. Why would anyone expose themselves to that kind of scrutiny, you might ask? For Simpson, it’s all in the name of real beauty.
Following the launch of her VH1 TV show, “The Price of Beauty,” Simpson, who has been frequently pummeled in the press for her weight issues, is now launching a new initiative with Operation Smile called A Beautiful Me to empower women everywhere to appreciate their own beauty.
Though it sounds like the singer has developed quite the thick skin since the “mom jeans” debacle in January 2009 — “I don’t have anything to prove anymore. What other people think of me is not my business” — the 29-year-old is not completely immune to the pressure in Hollywood to maintain a size zero figure.
