Could these "Little Green Aliens" be real?

Little green aliens have always been a frequently mentioned phenomenon in the cinema industry, especially in science fiction movies and even in cartoons. So how much truth does this myth of green aliens have?

Leaving aside scaly reptiles, the main factor that determines the skin color of living things on Earth is the “hemoglobin” found in our red blood cells, which also causes our blood to be red. This hemoglobin molecule is responsible for carrying oxygen and contains iron atoms, and the oxygen bound to these atoms spreads throughout the body of living things.

In other words, the hemoglobin molecule contains “iron oxide”, roughly speaking, “rust” as we know it. This “rusty iron” is what gives blood its red color. In this way, our skin takes on a yellowish-pink hue (although melanin is the main determinant).

This also causes your face to turn red when you get excited: More blood flows to the capillaries under your skin and your face turns pink. Likewise, the reddening of your nose and ears when you are cold is due to increased blood flow to protect these organs from the cold.

What if we did this “oxygen carrying” job in our blood with copper instead of iron? Then the color of our blood would be a bluish-green (tquoise) tone, and therefore our skin color would also be a bluish-green tone. When you get excited or cold, you won’t turn red, you will turn blue…

There are creatures on Earth that have blue blood and use copper instead of iron in their blood to carry oxygen. The most well-known of these is the “horse crab”. In fact, the blue blood of this animal is used in medicine to make medicine. Therefore, we cannot describe the definition of “green aliens” as nonsense. The existence of extraterrestrials with green or blue skin seems likely.

As scientists, we think that extraterrestrial life, even intelligent life, is a great possibility. However, we do not yet have any evidence for the existence of extraterrestrial creatures. That’s why this article was written about “probability”.

The lady in the photo at the top; Actress Yvonne Craig, who portrayed a green-blooded humanoid species named “Marta” in the episode “Whom God’s Destroy” of Star Trek The Original Series. In fact, they exaggerated it a bit to emphasize the green color. His skin was supposed to be a paler green.

As you know, the most well-known green-blooded alien is Mr. from Star Trek. Spock. His skin color was not yellowish-pink like a human’s, but rather a pale, slightly bluish tone. However, since he is the main character, we think that it did not need to be highlighted (for financial reasons) like the blue-colored Andorians used as a side character.
