Dutch football. The Dutch government decided to play football matches with the audience in the 1st league (Eredivisie) starting from September. However, cheering will be prohibited in the stadiums and a 1.5 meter social distance will be applied.
According to the statement made by the Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte after the cabinet meeting, the spectator football ban that has been imposed since March because of the coronavirus epidemic has ended as of September.
Upon the recommendation of the Dutch Scientific Committee, a 1.5 meter social distance will be implemented inside and outside the stadiums. It will be forbidden for the audience to cheer inside the stadium due to the risk of coronavirus spread.
Prime Minister Rutte suggested that if the cheering prohibition is not followed, the stadiums will be closed to the fans again, instead of shouting, the pipe is stolen or quietly rejoiced.
The Dutch government has also allowed all professional club footballers to train and prepare friendly matches from 1 July onwards. The 2020-2021 season in Dutch football will begin on Friday, September 11, 2020.
