In addition, the Yangzhou Library is another feature that makes this place special. Many tourists come to the city just for this library.

Completed in 2016, Yangzhou Zhongshuge Library has a unique architecture that every book lover will want to see. Designed by Li Xiang from the XL Muse architecture studio, the library was inspired by water due to its proximity to the Yangtze River.

The library is part of a large shopping complex and also a book shop. The building is accessed through a corridor surrounded by books. Furnished with black mirrors to create an illusion of water, this hallway has shelves inclined towards the ceiling. The lightning-shaped space on the ceiling was used to represent the river. The library also has a huge lobby of 1000 square meters.

The children’s reading room offers a very different atmosphere from the rest of the library. Designed with the theme of the village and reserved for picture books, the ceiling of this section has a night sky image created with led lamps. Colorful shelves are made in the form of clouds, houses, towers and hot air balloons to attract children’s attention.

Offering a magnificent environment for readers of all ages, the building is also located in an area that has become a meeting point for writers and writers throughout history. In this way, the library’s bridge design serves as a bridge between the past and the future.
