A terrorist bombs destroys the Kremlin while IMF agent Ethan Hunt in carrying out an operation in Moscow. The Russian government categorises the attack “as an undeclared act of war”, prompting United States government initiates a black operation know as “ghost protocol”, disavowing the entire Impossible Mission Force.
Hunt and his four-man team are allowed to escape from the government’s custody as part of a plan to enable them to operate in the dark, outside of their agency. However, when the IMF is ambushed, they are forced to operate without any kind of offical support to locate Brij Nath, an intelligence source connected to the Moscow bombing and the attack on the IMF.
