Catherine Zeta-Jones Joins Broken City
Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has joined the cast of Broken City for 20th Century Fox and director Allen Hughes.
The story centers on a Brooklyn private detective (Mark Wahlberg), who is hired by the New York City mayor (Russell Crowe) to discover the identity of his wife’s lover. When the lover turns up dead, the detective digs deeper into the case and discovers a vast conspiracy involving the mayor. Catherine Zeta-Jones will portray the mayor’s wife.
Allen Hughes is directing Broken City from a screenplay by Brian Tucker. The script made the Black List in 2008. Mark Wahlberg will also produce Broken City alongside Randall Emmett, George Furla, and Stephen Levinson.
Production is slated to begin in November on a $50 million budget. Broken City comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta-Jones. The film is directed by Allen Hughes.
